LGBTQ+ Rock Climbing

Lgbtq+ Climb Night is monthly event at the Circuit Gym every 3rd Thursday 6-8pm with over 20 participants.

Celebrating diversity and creating community in outdoor spaces. Patrick Dunn and Joelle from OUT in the Wild lead to “create a more diverse, equitable and accessible outdoor community through guided outdoor trips for LGBTQIA2+ Folx and sharing their stories of adventure.”

Learn more about Out in the Wild offering educational and privately guided adventure trips for all ages. Through offering adventure based experiences within a safe container, they hope to inspire our community to feel comfortable and confident in wild spaces, to learn the skills necessary to succeed in the outdoors and to promote diversity and inclusion in this industry by increasing visibility. On August 24, 2019 we partnered with ‘Bend Rock Gym’ who teamed up with The North Face for ‘Global Climbing Day’ to create an inclusive community climbing event. Celebrating the walls that unite us, not divide us. Learn More

On May 7th, 2019 we partnered with Gearfix for ‘A Conversation with Nikki Smith’. Nikki is a sponsored climber, outdoor photographer, and author, and she happens to be transgender. Some of her work has been featured in Rock and Ice Magazine and she is the author of 5 climbing guidebooks. She has over 150 roped first ascents and many more boulder FAs on top of that. Nikki will be showing a short slideshow followed by a Q&A session about “showing up and being seen” outdoors and coming out as a transgender woman to the climbing community. Learn More
